Caribana reinvents Toronto for a few weeks in July as the city hosts North America’s largest Caribbean festival with more than one million attendees. Toronto visitors take in the King and Queen of the Bands competition, the Olympic Island Caribbean Arts Festival, concerts, cruises, art exhibits and the not-to-be-missed Caribana parade. Food connoisseurs will sample the best Caribbean-Toronto cuisine.

Celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2004, this year-round program features Canadian authors such as Margaret Atwood (The Blind Assassin) and Barbara Gowdy who will participate in special readings and book signings.

Every October, the largest spoken-word festival in Toronto lasts 11 days and brings together more than 150 acclaimed authors to read from their works. Past guests are Salman Rushdie and AS Byatt. A worthwhile literary event.
Krinos Taste of the Danforth: Celebrating the Greek Spirit,

The Horseshoe Falls

One of the Seventh Wonders of the World, Niagara Falls is a magnificent visual and the jewel of the region. Toronto visitors board the Maid off the Mist, a boat tour that takes viewers through the churning waters of the American side of the Falls, past the Rock of Ages and the foot of Horseshoe Falls. Toronto tourists can also take in the spectacular view from the upper levels of the Skylon Tower Observation Deck.
The Shaw Festival

Located within 20 minutes of Niagara Falls, the world-renowned Shaw Festival is one of the biggest annual draws for visitors featuring the best plays from 1856 (the birth year of the Irish writer) to today with Shaw's Pygmalion and Man and Superman. This Niagara-based festival begins in April and runs through December.
